What is a Sound Bath? A Look Back at Our Restorative Evening with Emma West
At Wellness at The Coach House, we're all about creating space for restoration, relaxation, and reconnection—with ourselves and our well-being. One of our most popular experiences, the Sound Bath Meditation with Emma West, offered just that: an hour of total immersion in sound, stillness, and serenity.
But what exactly is a sound bath?
A Full-Body Listening Experience
A sound bath is a deeply calming practice that uses sound intentionally to soothe the mind and body. Unlike traditional meditation, where silence plays a central role, a sound bath invites you to be guided by waves of sound. Participants usually lie comfortably on yoga mats while a practitioner plays a blend of instruments—like crystal bowls, chimes, gongs, and tuning forks.
These vibrations aren’t just pleasant to listen to—they can help release stress, quiet mental chatter, and even support physical relaxation. It’s like a massage, but for your nervous system.
Our Event: A Peaceful Evening at The Coach House
On Sunday, May 26th, we welcomed guests into the warm and peaceful setting of The Coach House for an hour-long journey into sound with Emma West. With two sessions to choose from (4–5pm and 6–7pm), attendees had the chance to truly unwind in the beautiful, tranquil environment of our space.
As Emma gently guided the group into a state of rest using an array of harmonious instruments, the energy in the room shifted—tension melted away, breaths deepened, and time seemed to slow. It was a powerful reminder of the healing potential of sound and stillness.
