Spring at the Coach House

Spring at the Coach House

Foaling, lambing and the return of rhythm

Foaling and lambing season has arrived at the farm, bringing with it one of our favourite shifts of the year. It’s a time that feels both familiar and new, marked by small changes that slowly gather momentum.

Spring doesn’t arrive in one clear moment. It unfolds in stages, through earlier mornings, longer evenings and the gentle signs of life returning to the fields. The days begin to feel lighter, not just in daylight but in energy, as the land starts to move again after winter.

The animals are an essential part of life at the Coach House. They shape the pace of our days and keep us grounded in routine. There is something deeply steadying about caring for them, about responding to their needs and working in time with the natural world. That sense of rhythm carries through everything we do, influencing how we welcome guests and how we think about rest, nourishment and balance.

This season is filled with quiet anticipation. New life, fresh growth and the subtle sense that something is beginning again, without urgency or noise. It’s a reminder that renewal doesn’t need to be dramatic to be meaningful.

Spring on the farm invites a slower kind of wellbeing. One that is built patiently, rooted in care and attention, and strengthened by a connection to the land around us. When we allow ourselves to move with the seasons, rather than push against them, there is a deeper feeling of ease and alignment.
